The Amicus Music Duo presents

Songs from the Heart

Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:30 pm

Howard Meadows, Clarinet - Craig Addy, Piano

The Amicus Music Duo invites you to join them for

"Songs from the Heart". We did this show last fall and audience members said it was the best show so far, so don't miss out this time.

Both members of the Amicus Music Duo have a passion for the voice. This show celebrates the beauty of the vocal repertoire and explores the instrumentalist's quest to emulate the human voice. Come and listen to how the piano and the clarinet can "sing".

"Songs from the Heart" is part of the Amicus Music Duo's "In Your Living Room" music series. Our shows are designed to create ease, comfort, and conversation. Even when we are not performing in an actual living room, we take care to transform our carefully selected venues into living room-like spaces. On March 18, come and settle into comfy chairs surrounded by candles and beautiful oriental rugs. Come to relax and connect with music and musicians in a whole new way. The Narthex seats 30 people.

The Amicus Music Duo

The Amicus Music Duo creates and delivers Musical Occasions designed to foster Connections:

  • personal connections for each listener with music.
  • connections between the listener, the composer and the musician.

We foster these connections in new and fresh ways that express what music is for us, and who the audience is:

  • Creative and thoughtful: our selection of music is both well researched and well loved.
  • Unique and intimate: our performance spaces are as familiar as your home, as comfortable as your favourite armchair; we select environments that evoke the ease and simple beauty of music while removing any sense of the 'untouchable' or 'unapproachable'.
  • Engaging and inclusive: new ways of thinking about music are suggested, and stories of universal appeal inspire this much-sought after connection between listener, music, musician and composer.
  • Welcoming and beautiful: new listeners - who might be daunted by the prospect of attending a mainly classical concert - and music enthusiasts alike are invited to settle in for an enjoyable and dazzling music event.
